MEET MIKE
A hardworking businessman for District Twelve
Mike Andrade represents House District 12 in the Indiana House of Representatives. Mike represents the Town of Munster, Town of Highland, Town of Griffith, North Schererville, and St. John township unincorporated. He serves on three committees: House Financial Institutions, Veterans Affairs and Public Safety, and Ways and Means Committee. Mike is the Ranking Democrat on the Financial Institutions Committee and the Indiana Taiwan Friendship Caucus Co-Chair.
As one of the only Latino legislators in Indiana’s House of Representatives, Mike is a proud member of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators, Commissioner for the Indiana Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, and Chairs the Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives Advisory Board for Purdue University Northwest. He’s also the Chief Advisor to Valparaiso University President on Advancing Latino Education.

Committees & legislation
During the 2022 legislative session, Rep. Mike Andrade authored five house bills and co-authored four more house bills. Mike Andrade also had the opportunity to co-sponsor seven senate bills. Mike has kept his promises on promising to work hard for the constituents of the twelfth district.

Representative Mike Andrade is very active throughout the Lake County, Indiana, community. Every week State Representative Andrade meets with constituents, elected officials, business owners, non-profits, teachers, and first responders throughout district twelve to discuss issues pertaining to them as well as to discuss how he can help as their elected state representative.
